I’ve decided to do top five Wednesday’s! I think I’ll format them like a countdown 5-1 for ones that actually have a cohesive order, and ones where I can’t decide will just be 1-5.

Today’s topic is: Love interests you would have broken up with – oh boy ok I’m ready to make people mad

5. Noah Shaw (The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer)

Not much to say about this one, he’s just one of those generic dark, brooding YA guys that have no personality

4. The Best Friend

You know like, Gale from the Hunger Games, or Jacob from Twilight. That guy that genuinely believes in The friend zone.

You cannot force someone to be attracted to you, just because you’re attracted to them, and it does not make someone a bad person if they don’t like you back.

3. Lila Bard (A Darker Shade Of Magic series)

Oof. She was infuriating. She cared about no one but herself.

She was that stereotypical ‘strong female character’ who isn’t actually strong where it counts. Like yeah you can walk into a room and massacre everyone in it but you have literally no emotions or empathy.

2. Griffin (History is all you left me)

He’s not actually the love interest, he’s the main character, but ughhh I really don’t like him because of the way he Treated his love interests so I’m including it.

(Spoilers) He used sex as revenge with Two Separate People. One of which was emotionally invested in him, even though he wasn’t emotionally invested in them.

1. Peter Kavinsky (To all the boys I’ve loved before)

Oops. Uhhh I was so excited because everyone loved him but he was just another stereotype with two emotions and Lara Jean deserved better (Cough cough John Ambrose cough cough)

Hello everyone! I thought for my first proper post it would be a good idea to talk about my favourite books and series’! I’ve only just gotten back into reading and my tastes have changed and are still changing, so take this list with a grain of salt. – These are in no particular order.

Favourite series’

 

1. Harry Potter

Of course! Not much to say about this one, but my favourites are Goblet of Fire and the Deathly Hallows.

2. The infernal devices

This one’s kind of hard to describe as it’s kind of a prequel to the mortal instruments series I’m a fan of all of Cassandra Clare’s books, but The Infernal Devices series is definitely my favourite. I’m not that fussed with the plot, you’ll learn that I’m a character driven reader, but I adore the characters. Tessa, Will and Jem will always hold a special place in my heart.

3. Six of Crows

Six of crows is about six outcasts coming together to pull off an impossible heist. It took me a while to get into this one, I think I’ll definitely like it more when I reread it. I’ve also started the Grisha trilogy recently, which should help me understand the world more. But again, the characters.

 

4. Renegades

Renegades is about teenage superheroes/super villains, basically. This one, again, took me a while to get into, but once I did, I fell in love. I’m not really a fan of Nova and Adrian separately, but together…. I love their relationship. I also really enjoy Ruby and Oscar, and all the superpowers are really cool to read and learn about.

5. The Gone series

The gone series is set in a world where everyone over the age of 15 disappears. I read this last year and honestly don’t remember much about it but I know I enjoyed it, would really like to reread soon, it was such an interesting premise.

6. The Rain

This is a duology about a virus affecting the rain, and in turn, the water supply. It’s not written the best, but I loved it when I first read it a couple years ago, so it has sentimental value. The plot is also really interesting.

Favourite standalones!

1. Sadie

Sadie, a story about a girl who goes missing after her sister’s death, is the first thriller in a while to affect me as much as it did. I loved Sadie as a character and the ending Killed Me.

2. Coraline

I’ve watched and loved the movie about five times, so of course I had to read the book, and it did not disappoint! It was so creepy and cute and whimsical at the same time aaaaa.

3. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows Of Ava Lavender is a magical realism about a girl born with wings. While the ending disappointed me, the rest of the book was great, and it still became one of my favourites. I’m not typically a fan of flowery writing, but it was beautiful in this one.

4. Secrets for the mad

Written by one of my favourite Youtubers, this is the only non-fiction book on this list. I barely ever read non-fiction, but I love Dodie, and this book is beautiful.
